What if you could sense a quiet attacker approaching you from behind and take countermeasures? What if you could get up and go to the bathroom at night in complete darkness without stubbing your toe or making a mess? These are two wildly different scenarios, but they provide great examples of what is possible when you take MP USA Vibravision courses. But, what is Vibravision? We will answer this question and more in today’s blog.
What Is Vibravision?
Vibravision is part of the martial art Merpati Putih (MP), which comes from the Indonesian royal family. For decades, the blind people of Indonesia have used Vibravision for mobility and orientation. And, rather than using night vision technology, Kopassus, the elite military special forces of Indonesia, use Vibravision.
The owner of MP USA, Nate Zeleznick, contacted Yayasan Saring Hadipoernomo in 1998 to bring public demonstrations of Vibravision and MP to the United States. Nate and his brother Mike were given permission to train in Vibravision after successful demonstrations at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Weber State University, and the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind.
After a brutal, accelerated training regimen, Mike and Nate were certified to teach MP and Vibravision. Today, they own and operate the only certified Vibravision school in the Western Hemisphere.
Benefits of Sighted People Taking Vibravision Courses
The benefits Vibravision courses offer blind people are obvious. But, why would sighted individuals need the skills taught in these courses? Here are a few benefits:
- Become More Aware of Your Surroundings – We are much more prone to injuries if we are not aware of our surroundings. For instance, you could trip and fall over an object you didn’t realize was there or even hit your head. When you are more aware of what’s around you, you avoid these obstacles.
- Help Kids Deal with Fear of the Dark – A child’s fear of the dark is rooted in an inability to see potential dangers. When everything is observable without using your sense of sight, that fear is easy to assuage.
- Find Your Way in the Darkness – So, maybe a fear of the dark is not solely in the domain of children. Our cortisol levels (associated with stress) tend to spike when we are not able to see in the darkness. With Vibravision, you will have more control and be able to find your way more easily in the dark. This is useful for everything from power outages to being lost in the woods.
Basically, Vibravision is useful for any situation where you cannot or do not want to rely on your sense of sight. It allows you to use your mind’s eye.
Types of Vibravision Courses
We offer a number of options for sighted people interested in learning Vibravision. All of the courses include testing, breathing techniques, power building exercises, certificate of completion, sensing and implementation, specific meditations, and an introduction to Vibravision.
There are three main retreat Vibravision courses. The Weekend Introduction is a sixteen-hour weekend course that gives a good sampling of the art. The 1-Week Immersion class is eight hours per day for five days. The student is thoroughly immersed in the practice and technique of Vibravision. And, the 1-Month Immersion perfects the skills learned in the 1-Week Immersion class. The classes are held every weekday for eight hours per day.
We also invite you to join in our intro classes this month. They take place Wednesday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm, June 14th, 21st, and 28th. If you are interested in learning about Vibravision for sighted people or just want more information, contact MP USA today at (866) 666-7872, Option 1.
